Mandan a county seat of Morton County was named for the Indian tribe. Mandan is located just across the Missouri River from Bismarck. Mandan covers a total area of 26.7 km² (10.3 mi²). 26.4 km² (10.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (1.07%) is water.
