North Dakota : Tourist's Hot Spots

North Dakota comes under the least visited states of United States though state houses some attractions that can be visited anytime. Fargo Theater, Fargo Air Museum, the Red River zoo, North Dakota Museum of Art and the King’s Walk golf course at Grand Forks area are some of the popular places whereas hunting, fishing, camping or follow the trails from Lewis & Clark to Maah Daah Hey are regular outdoor activities within the region. A trip to Theodore Roosevelt National Park would be an added advantage.

Fargo: It is the most important and biggest city of the state North Dakota. Apart from its role in economic development of the region, the city is equally plays an important role in tourism sector. It houses some of the must visited place around the state that enhances the charm and attraction of Fargo.
  • Fargo Theatre: It is an art deco style of cinema house from the era of 1926 that houses an old Wurlitzer and independent films without screens.
  • Plains Art Museum: The museum houses some extravagant displays of modern and impressive features of industrial interiors. Regional fine arts are the main point of attractions.
Bismarck: It is the capital of North Dakota state and surprisingly the city is not very attractive in terms of tourism attractions but it is a center for outdoor adventures, from hiking and canoeing to mountain biking and boating. It is also recognized as the region's business, cultural, and financial center.
  • North Dakota Heritage Center: It displays comprehensive displays about all the state North Dakota’s history and origin.
  • State Capitol: It is an Art Deco Style building which was built in the mid 1930s and includes a large tower at one end. It is often referred as the ‘sky scraper of the prairie.’
Theodore Roosevelt National Park:
It is the main highlight of the state North Dakota and divided into main divisions, the South Unit and the North Unit. The whole park is covered with rich wildlife and around 200 species of bird, deer, wild horses, bighorn sheep etc. A visit to the park will provide a lasting impression of this landscape and can be described as a "hell without fire".
